Made a typo on my NZeTA application, how do I fix it before I travel?

Just realised I made a small typo in my name when filling in my NZeTA application. It’s been approved already with the wrong detail. Is this something I need to correct before I fly or will it be fine since it matches my passport otherwise?

I’d recommend getting this corrected rather than hoping it’ll be fine. Even a small name discrepancy between your NZeTA and passport can potentially cause issues at check-in or immigration, and it’s not worth the stress on travel day.

Unfortunately NZeTA approvals can’t be edited once issued, so the fix is to cancel the existing one and submit a fresh application with the correct details. You can do this through the official NZeTA app or website: https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-zealand-visas/visas/visa/nzeta

The good news is the process is quick, usually approved within minutes to a few hours. If you’d prefer a hand walking through the new application, iVisa supports NZeTA applications too. Either way, better to sort it now while you have time!
