How long is the UK ETA valid after approval?

Just got my UK ETA approved through iVisa and realised I never actually checked how long it lasts. Is it tied to my passport expiry or does it have its own validity period? I travel to the UK a couple times a year so wondering if I need to reapply each time or if one ETA covers multiple trips.

Great news for your situation! The UK ETA is valid for 2 years from the date it’s approved, or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. And yes, it covers multiple trips within that period, so you won’t need to reapply for each visit as long as it’s still valid. Each individual stay is limited to 6 months at a time though. So for your twice-a-year trips, one ETA should have you covered for a while. One thing to note: if you get a new passport before the 2 years are up, you’ll need a new ETA linked to the new passport.
