What documents do you need to apply for a UK ETA?

I’m planning a trip to the UK later this year and want to make sure I have everything ready before applying for the ETA!!! Do you need anything besides your passport when filling it out?? Want to avoid starting the app + realizing that I’m missing something!

It’s definitely a good idea to check before starting the app! The UK ETA form is generally simple (I’ve experienced a few timeout issues but other than that, pretty straightforward), having a few things ready will make the process smoother.

What you need:

  • Your passport
  • A photo of yourself (double check image requirements)
  • Email address
  • Payment method (e.g. credit card, debit card)
  • Device (smartphone if you want to use the official UK ETA App)

The application usually takes about 10-ish minutes (maybe a little longer without correct docs).
