Planning a trip to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem next spring. I’m American so do I need to apply for a visa before I travel or is there a visa-free agreement between the US and Israel?
Good news, US citizens do not need a visa to enter Israel! There’s a visa-free agreement in place, so you can enter for tourism without applying in advance. You’ll typically get up to 3 months on arrival.
You just need a valid US passport (make sure it has at least 6 months validity), and you’ll go through immigration at the airport where they’ll either stamp your passport or give you a separate entry card if you’d prefer no stamp.
Tel Aviv and Jerusalem are both incredible, you’re going to have a great trip!! Just make sure to check the latest travel advisories closer to your departure date: https://travel.state.gov
